MEET BALFTA

The best street food vendors in Baltimore are gathered by the Baltimore Food Truck Association, or BALFTA. They are a varied, carefully selected group of culinary experts who work in the Baltimore region.

We are dedicated to connecting Baltimoreans with our members for distinctive food truck catering experiences because we think that food unites people. At the same time, we are working hard to preserve Baltimore's distinctive street food culture through our advocacy work.

Above all, we are community-driven; we constantly strive to maintain excellent food, uphold street safety, and improve the whole food truck experience.

Advocacy and Empowerment

The Baltimore Food Truck Association empowers local food truck businesses in two unique and important ways.

First, through event catering and other revenue streams, BALFTA makes sure that our vendors have access to a plethora of new business opportunities. Because Ben Goldberg, a former food truck owner who saw firsthand how difficult it can be to rely only on erratic street sales, founded BALFTA, our organization is set up to make sure our vendors remain active and relevant year-round through these catering opportunities, which in turn enable our members to expand their businesses.

Second, in order to represent the interests of our members and the food truck industry as a whole, BALFTA devotes a substantial amount of time and resources to lobbying the local and state governments. We stay up to date on any potential policy, rule, or regulation changes that directly affect our members. Because BALFTA is constantly monitoring the industry, we can leverage our knowledge to give local mobile businesses a voice.

why choose us

  • The best eats on the streets - We know good food, from assisting with the creation of personalized menus to selecting from our carefully chosen vendors. We've tried every dish on the menu to make sure you'll enjoy it as much as we do, and we offer more than 50 different cuisines.
  • Experienced professionals - With more than 200 annual events under our belt, we are able to spot issues before they arise and address those that do.
  • Compliance and success - It goes beyond making sure trucks arrive on schedule. We take care of all the logistics, including managing a point-of-sale system and obtaining the necessary permits and insurance paperwork.
  • Premium vendors - In addition to being personally screened for food quality, cleanliness, dependability, and customer service, our members are adequately insured and current on their health inspections.
